We’re super happy ultra excited to tell you that Broken Cities and The Nepotist will be appearing on the upcoming seasons of a few well-loved reality programs on MTV! More details to follow – sit tight, my lovelies.
UPDATE: 16 and Pregnant aired last night, featuring several songs by Speaker Jam Artists. Check it out here!

Dissolve – An NYC Arts Collective That Commands You To Dance
We’d like to take a hot minute to tell you about our friends at Dissolve, a new production company that’s in the business of throwing phat parties (yes, we said phat – no, we’re not sorry) for anyone and everyone in the NYC area that’s looking to dance their asses off. Bringing together live visual artists and DJ’s for masterfully curated monthly events, Dissolve invited two of our very own Speaker Jam artists – Fight the Dawn and Rioux – to its first ever event; needless to say, they kept the party going way past our bed time. So if you find yourself in Brooklyn one of these days with no place to show off your new moves, look no further than Dissolve.

Tre Burt and a Big Gust of Wind
As August comes to a close, we at the Speaker Jam team finds ourselves looking fondly back at a fantastic (if not brain-numbingly hectic) summer. We’ve grown an incredible artist family, have secured synchs with the likes of FOX and FuelTV, and are now proud to announce that Tre Burt and a Big Gust of Wind has entered the SJM fold. Mr. Burt’s brand of indie-folk is, as one blog described, “something to listen to and forget about the rain outside”. We can’t help but agree. Fall is upon us, and there’s no better way to bring on the sweater-weather than checking out an artist who masterfully blends Sufjan Stevens, Bon Iver, and Sad Brad Smith.

The Colourist, Thomas Wesley Stern, Year of the Tiger

The best of the best have joined our little team here at Speaker Jam – from the irresistible pop confections of OC-based The Colourist, to the pop-Americana musings of Thomas Wesley Stern, to the ear-melting garage-rock hooks of Brooklyn’s Year of the Tiger, our roster has become a force to be reckoned with. Do yourself a huge favor and check out these bands and their artist pages today.

Little Sur signs with Speaker Jam Music
Break out the headphones and make yourself a cup of tea – we’ve got us a catch. Recently featured on the infamous blog, “Music to Have Sex To,” Little Sur has come a long way in a short while to become one of the most innovative folk bands in the industry. Soft, lilting, nostalgic, romantic – these are the only words one can use to describe their sound, so if that doesn’t do it for you then take a look at their artist page and check out their phenomenal EP for yourself!

Q: What do you do when someone who sounds like the next Moby becomes a part of your artist team?
A: You freak the f*ck out.
Fight The Dawn, now on Speaker Jam Music.

Ceci G + Cut Your Teeth
Looks like we got ourselves a double feature of kick-ass. The highly accomplished electronic powerhouse known as Ceci G, and the rising beast of darkness and metal that some refer to as Cut Your Teeth, have joined forces with our humble team. Ceci’s dreamy electro-pop has made multiple appearances on the hit MTV shows “Skins” and “Robert Dyrdek’s Fantasy Factory”, while the lads at CYT have been working their way around the NYC metal circuit, raising hell with some of the meanest, hardest, and often quirkiest tunes on the scene. Give yourself a treat and check out both of these artists’ fantastic music on their artist pages!

Things are moving fast, friends. We are proud to say that Rioux, the up and coming face of electronic music, has joined SJM. Frequently combining afro-rhythm with what could be the dopest vocal sampling to be done since the likes of Lemon Jelly, Rioux’s highly unique brand of dance-music has already garnered him a placement on the U.S. pilot of the British hit television show “Skins”. The sky’s the limit for this new partnership!

We’re very excited to announce that Adam LaMotte has climbed aboard the Speaker Jam train. With perhaps the most unique country/folk sound that has come out of California in the past few years, Adam’s ever-expanding catalog represents a marriage between low-fi country-rock and infectiously eccentric pop. Take a gander over to his artist page and check out his newest release, “Wild Pursuits”.

Homage to the Lion
Singer, songwriter, and composer Sunset Lion has signed a licensing deal with Speaker Jam Music, earning the honorable title of “First Artist To Make Our Site Less Lonely” (we’re still hammering out the details of that particular distinction). No but really, we’re very excited to be representing the Lion. Check out their artist page and music using the links conveniently located above.
